On December 30, 2019, Ronald Moates, a 51-year-old white male from Summerville, GA, was found dead at his residence on Kelly Street. The initial investigation by the Summerville Police Department revealed that Moates had been shot during a domestic dispute. His live-in girlfriend, Angela Rowland, 53, was present at the scene and initially claimed that the shooting was in self-defense.
