Vanita Richardson, a 19-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on May 12, 2020, in Rome, Georgia. Her body, along with that of her 30-year-old stepsister Clarice Truvenia Campbell, was discovered the following morning by a Georgia Department of Transportation crew under the East Rome Bypass bridge near the Etowah River. The initial investigation revealed that both women had been murdered, with their heads covered in plastic bags and their bodies dropped from the bridge.
