Wenda Nicole Gunnels, a 40-year-old female from Kingston, Georgia, which is near Rome, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2015. A native of Cherokee County, she died at Floyd Hospital. Her passing was mourned by a loving family and a community of friends.
She was a wife to Sidney Gunnels and a mother to three children, a son named Dalton Lee Gunnels and two daughters, Brittany Hamilton and Sara Gayle Gunnels. She is also survived by her parents, Bryant and Charlene Peek. Remembered fondly by those who knew her, special mention was made of her close friends, Christina Dunagan and Michael Shane Stubbs, alongside several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Services to honor her life were held at the Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Joey Haynes officiating. The family received friends and loved ones for a period of visitation before the funeral service. The circumstances surrounding her death did not lead to any arrests or public investigation into suspects, and she was laid to rest leaving behind a legacy of family and friendship.
