On a cool Sunday evening in Newnan, Georgia, on December 13, 2020, the life of 28-year-old Tavarus Menjuan Mitchell was tragically cut short. Just after 6 p.m., the sound of gunfire echoed through the Eastgate Apartments on Dowdell Street. When police officers arrived at the scene, they found Mitchell in an interior stairwell, suffering from a gunshot wound. First responders rendered aid and rushed him to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal.
