On March 8, 2021, Jahnard Brooks, a 21-year-old African American male from Valdosta, Georgia, was tragically killed in a shooting incident. The Valdosta Police Department responded to a call at a residence on McAlfina Trail, where they found Jahnard Brooks and a 20-year-old woman with gunshot injuries. Unfortunately, Jahnard Brooks was declared deceased at the scene, while the woman was transported to a hospital for treatment and later released.
