In the early morning hours of a Saturday in April 2021, a passerby made a grim discovery on a Macon sidewalk. Lying near the intersection of Columbus Road and Hortman Avenue was 55-year-old Timothy Keith Williams, suffering from a gunshot wound to a lower extremity. It was around 2 a.m. on April 17th when the call was made to authorities. Emergency responders arrived swiftly and transported Williams to a nearby hospital, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries about half an hour later. The incident was immediately treated as a homicide, prompting an investigation by the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
Months later, the investigation into Williams' death led to significant developments. In September 2021, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office announced the arrests of two men in connection with the fatal shooting. The suspects were identified as 20-year-old Rahkon Howard and 29-year-old Andre Davis. Investigators determined that Williams had been shot during an armed robbery.
At the time the murder charges were brought against him, Rahkon Howard was already incarcerated at the Bibb County jail on unrelated charges. He had been arrested in July for an armed robbery that occurred in March at the Houston Avenue Grocery. In addition to the murder charge, Howard faced charges of armed robbery and robbery in connection to Williams' death. Andre Davis was arrested on a Wednesday in September and was charged with murder and armed robbery, as well as a parole violation from a separate case.
