In the early morning hours of May 4, 2021, 37-year-old Latoya Denise James was shot and killed in Woodbine, Georgia. A Black female, James was at the home of her cousin, Varshawn Lamont Brown, when deputies from the Camden County Sheriff's Office executed a drug-related search warrant.
