In the summer of 2021, a verbal dispute inside an Atlanta apartment escalated into a fatal shooting that claimed the life of 30-year-old Malik Campbell, a male rapper also known as Mill Tick3t. The incident, which also left another man, Deandre Porterfield, wounded, unfolded on the afternoon of June 22 at The Prato apartments in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood.
Responding to a 'person shot' call, police arrived at the scene on Central Park Place NE to find Campbell deceased.
Porterfield, who was 35 at the time, was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. Investigators quickly determined that the shooting stemmed from an argument that had occurred within one of the apartment units. The suspect or suspects had fled before law enforcement arrived.
In the weeks that followed, the Atlanta Police Department's homicide detectives worked to identify those responsible for Campbell's death. Their efforts led them to seek the public's help in identifying two persons of interest, a man and a woman, who were seen near the crime scene.
