In the spring of 2022, the life of a once-celebrated dancer named Gerard Alexander came to a tragic end in Atlanta, Georgia. A Black man of 55 years, Alexander's body was discovered on his birthday, April 25th, tucked away beneath the concrete expanse of an overpass bridge. An autopsy would later reveal he had been shot seven times, a violent conclusion to a life marked by both extraordinary talent and profound struggle.
