Inside an apartment on Laura Court, police discovered two individuals, 42-year-old Erica Reaves and 29-year-old Tyric Justice, who had been fatally shot.
A third victim, 38-year-old Quincy Jackson, was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to The Medical Center, Atrium Health Navicent, for emergency medical treatment.
For sixteen days, Jackson fought for his life, but his injuries proved too severe. On July 19, 2021, he succumbed to the gunshot wounds he sustained in the attack, becoming the third fatality of the triple homicide. The incident left the community in shock and a family grappling with an immense loss, as they had lost three loved ones in one violent act.
In the aftermath of the shooting, the Milledgeville Police Department launched an intensive investigation. Their efforts led them to identify 29-year-old Christopher Arnold as a person of interest in the case. Authorities publicly announced they were seeking Arnold for questioning regarding the triple homicide and noted that he was also wanted in connection with an unrelated aggravated assault that had occurred in June of that year. Law enforcement officials cautioned that Arnold should be considered armed and dangerous.
