Trental Jaquan Henderson, a 23-year-old Black man, was killed in Hinesville, Georgia, on November 28, 2021, after gunfire erupted at the Harbor Rain apartment complex on Saunders Avenue in the early morning hours. Local reports said police were called to the complex on a disturbance call and found Henderson with a gunshot wound to his upper torso. He was taken to the hospital, but he later died from his injuries. Police identified him soon afterward, and the killing left behind the kind of sudden silence that follows a night that spun out of control far too fast.

What emerged publicly in the immediate aftermath was a case that looked active but tightly held. Hinesville police said investigators recovered the firearm believed to have been used and were interviewing a person of interest, but they did not release names at that stage. Authorities also said there was no known danger to the public stemming from the incident, a detail suggesting they believed the shooting was contained to the people involved rather than a random act. Even so, the public record that followed appears sparse, and the case seemed to settle into that uneasy place where a death is confirmed, an investigation is acknowledged, and many of the deeper answers remain outside public view.

Online memorial and obituary information filled in the picture of who Henderson was beyond the violence of that morning. He was known as TJ, had been raised in Hinesville and also lived in Baxley, and graduated from Bradwell Institute in 2016. His obituary described him as ambitious and energetic, a proud son, brother, grandson, uncle, and an expectant father who had also been working to establish himself in music. Those personal details stand in sharp contrast to the brief, hard language of police reports, and they make the loss feel less like a case file and more like a life interrupted in mid-stride.

As for suspects, arrests, and prosecutions, the publicly available online reporting I found does not show a named suspect, announced arrest, filed charges, trial, or conviction tied to Henderson’s death. The clearest public statements in the reporting were that police had recovered a gun and were speaking with a person of interest while continuing to investigate. Based on the online sources available, there does not appear to have been a later public update confirming that anyone was arrested or successfully prosecuted in the case.
