Murdered

On January 16, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred at the Shady Oaks Mobile Home Park located on West Oglethorpe Highway in Hinesville, Georgia. The victim, identified as Alton Jones, a 46-year-old man who police stated was not from the area, succumbed to his injuries despite the efforts of first responders.

The incident was reported around 2:30 p.m. when officers responded to calls about a gunshot victim. Alton Jones was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of his wounds.
