A young Black man, 23-year-old TaRandall Williams Jr., known to his loved ones as 'TJ,' lost his life in a fatal shooting incident that unfolded on a Friday night in Hinesville, Georgia. Born on January 9, 2002, Williams was a graduate of Tattnall County High School, where he was an active participant in both football and basketball. He was described by those who knew him as a man who was loved by everyone, never met a stranger, and was always willing to help others. A father to two sons, becoming a parent was one of his greatest accomplishments, and this motivated his drive for a better life. He was employed by a moving company in Walthourville, Georgia at the time of his passing.
The events that led to Williams' untimely death began on the evening of Friday, May 9, 2025. A heated argument erupted between Williams and another man, Donte' Faye, on Pulaski Street. The disagreement escalated to the point of gunfire, with both men firing weapons at each other. The sound of gunshots shattered the evening quiet, and when the exchange was over, both Williams and Faye were wounded. Emergency services were called to the scene, and both men were initially transported to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville for treatment of their injuries.
Due to the severity of their wounds, both Williams and Faye were later transferred to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. Despite the efforts of medical staff, TaRandall Williams Jr. succumbed to his injuries and passed away on the morning of Saturday, May 10, 2025. Donte' Faye, the other individual involved in the altercation, was treated for his injuries and subsequently released from the hospital. Following his release, he was taken into custody by the Liberty County Sheriff's Office. Faye has been charged with felony murder in connection with the death of Williams. The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing, and authorities have indicated that more charges could be pending as they continue to gather evidence and details about the case.
