Fitzjerold Mickover Jean-Baptiste, a 19-year-old Black/African American male, was discovered on January 31, 2022, when a fisherman in Jekyll Creek near the public boat ramp on Jekyll Island, Georgia, realized the object in the water was a body. Game wardens with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources recovered him as local fire, EMS, and law enforcement converged on the scene.
