Markeith Wright, a 22-year-old Black man, was killed in the early hours of February 6, 2022, in downtown Savannah, Georgia, after gunfire broke out near the intersection of Congress and Drayton streets. According to Savannah police, officers were already patrolling nearby around 3 a.m. when they heard the shots and ran toward the sound.
