Markayla Kalleah Marshall, a 17-year-old African American girl from Columbus, GA, tragically lost her life on March 31, 2022. The incident occurred at Primus King Park, where Markayla was fatally shot in front of her younger sister. The shooting took place around 6:45 p.m., and Markayla was pronounced dead at Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital at 7:49 p.m. She suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
