Johnnie Coleman, a 72-year-old African American male, was found dead on April 18, 2022, in Augusta, Georgia. His body was discovered by a passing motorist outside Perry’s Pig Barbeque on the 1900 block of Old Savannah Road around 7:20 a.m. Coleman had been shot at least once and was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:58 a.m. The Richmond County Sheriff's Office immediately launched a homicide investigation, marking the third homicide in the area since the previous Thursday.
