In the late spring of 2022, the community of Macon, Georgia, was unsettled by the discovery of a local man's body. Abraham Lincoln Simmons III, a 46-year-old male, had been reported missing by his family on a Friday. The search for him came to a somber end on the evening of Saturday, May 28, 2022. It was then that deputies from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office were called to a clearing in an overgrown field near the intersection of Broadway and Greter Street.
