In the summer of 2022, a young man's life was tragically cut short in Conyers, Georgia. Eighteen-year-old Marcus Shaffer, a resident of Conyers, died on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, from a single gunshot wound. The fatal incident took place on a trail off of Centennial Olympic Parkway, near the Georgia International Horse Park.

Authorities were alerted to the shooting at approximately 5:14 p.m. through a 911 call. The call was made by an 18-year-old male who was with Shaffer at the time. When ...
