On June 4, 2023, Dontavious Hardeman, a 33-year-old father of five from Newton County, was found shot to death in his pickup truck outside the InTown Suites on Northlake Drive in Conyers, Georgia. The incident occurred around 6:20 a.m. when officers responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, they discovered Hardeman with multiple gunshot wounds inside his truck.
