In the summer of 2022, a shocking act of violence cut short the life of 43-year-old Lewayne Terrell, an African American man, in Decatur, Georgia. On the afternoon of July 6, Terrell was fatally shot while sitting in his car in the bustling parking lot of the Emory Commons shopping center on North Decatur Road.
