Clarence Edward Carllel III, a 24-year-old resident of San Diego, was fatally shot on the night of June 8, 2015, in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. The incident occurred around 10:45 p.m. near the intersection of 47th Street and Logan Avenue. Carllel was walking with another man when a red vehicle, possibly a Nissan or Honda, stopped nearby. The occupants of the vehicle reportedly yelled at Carllel and his companion before multiple gunshots were fired from the car, striking Carllel in the upper torso. His companion managed to escape unharmed. Despite efforts from emergency responders, Carllel was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.
Authorities believe that two males were inside the suspect vehicle, which fled eastbound immediately after the shooting. No arrests were made following the incident, and the motive for the attack remained unclear.
