On the night of August 12, 2003, Sean Michael Augustad, aged 26, was found fatally wounded in front of an apartment complex on 4355 37th Street in the Normal Heights area of San Diego. Around 10:29 p.m., officers responded to reports of an individual down on the sidewalk. Upon their arrival, they found Augustad bleeding from the torso.
