Enrique Nunez, 40, a Hispanic man, was shot shortly after 12:45 a.m. on Oct. 6, 2025, near the Linda Vista Recreation Center on Levant Street in San Diego. Officers responding to reports of gunfire found him in the park with at least one gunshot wound and performed lifesaving measures before paramedics took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police identified him later that day and opened a homicide investigation into the circumstances of the attack.
