In the early morning hours of December 15, 2022, the quiet of Garfield, Georgia, was broken by the sound of a 911 call reporting a house fire. This call would set in motion a chain of events that would leave a 45-year-old man, Nathan Reuben Street, dead from a gunshot wound. The incident, which began with accusations of arson, concluded with a fatal confrontation on a rural road in Emanuel County.
