Wolfgang Bayer, aged 71, was found deceased alongside his wife, Linda Bayer, aged 72, on March 4, 2018, near Fort Bragg, California. The Mendocino County Sheriff's Office discovered their bodies inside a vehicle parked in the 24000 block of Highway 20. The initial investigation suggested that the couple's deaths were the result of a suicide pact. The authorities did not find any signs of foul play at the scene, and the case was treated as a coroner's investigation rather than a criminal one.
