On a late Thursday afternoon in Baltimore, the life of Larry Darnell Alston Jr., a 23-year-old Black male, was abruptly ended. On September 26, 2013, shortly before 5 p.m., Alston was shot in the head in the 3900 block of Penhurst Avenue in the Dolfield neighborhood of Northwest Baltimore. Police officers responded to the scene and found Alston with a critical gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, but his injury proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
