On November 23, 2012, Jordan Davis, a 17-year-old Black American male, was tragically shot and killed at a Gate Petroleum gas station in Jacksonville, Florida. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. when Davis and three friends were sitting in a red Dodge Durango SUV, listening to loud music.
