Warren Corway Sanders, a 33-year-old officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, tragically lost his life on July 26, 1990, while on duty. Officer Sanders was engaged in an undercover assignment with a fellow officer when the incident occurred. The two officers were sitting in a vehicle when a suspect recognized Sanders' partner as a police officer and attempted to flee.
