Markus Lernard Tenner, a 23-year-old resident of Jacksonville, Florida, tragically lost his life on the night of July 11, 2016. According to reports, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) received a call around 11 p.m. regarding shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, officers found Tenner suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after.
Witnesses at the scene reported that Tenner had been conversing with a black male on a bicycle just before the shooting. The suspect, described as a black male in his late teens to early twenties, was seen fleeing south on Lake Shore Boulevard with a dark t-shirt wrapped around his head. Despite the efforts of law enforcement, the suspect remained at large, and the investigation faced significant challenges due to the limited description and lack of additional leads.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office launched an extensive investigation into Tenner's murder, appealing to the public for any information that could lead to the identification and apprehension of the suspect.
