Christopher Bing, a 25-year-old resident of Jacksonville, Florida, was killed on August 31, 2017, in a tragic shooting. The incident occurred at the Kings Ridge Apartments, where Jacksonville's ShotSpotter system detected gunfire at around 9:52 p.m. Responding to the alert, police discovered that Bing had been shot multiple times by a high-capacity weapon, later identified as a 7.62 rifle.
The investigation revealed that the shooting was the result of an ongoing dispute involving 27-year-old Germaine Dubose, who was subsequently arrested. Dubose was charged with second-degree murder for Bing’s death, as well as attempted murder for injuring another individual during the incident. Dubose, however, did not confess to the crimes.
