On April 11, 2017, at approximately 3 a.m., Broward Sheriff's Office deputies responded to reports of a shooting near Northwest 28th Avenue and Northwest Eighth Street, just west of I-95 near Fort Lauderdale. Upon arrival, they discovered 43-year-old Ferris Finley inside a white GMC pickup truck; he had been fatally shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.
