Joseph Belotto, aged 40, tragically lost his life on February 9, 1996, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. His death was part of a horrific mass shooting incident that occurred early in the morning at a trailer used as an office by the city's beach maintenance crew. The shooter, Clifton McCree, a former beach maintenance worker, had been terminated from his job over a year prior due to failing a drug test and making threatening remarks to coworkers.
