Gretchen Rust, aged 64, tragically died on January 1, 2018, in Baker, Florida, in what was determined to be a murder-suicide. The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office identified Gretchen and her husband, William Rust, also 64, as the victims of this incident. Investigators believe that William, who had been diagnosed with a medical condition that led to deteriorating mental capabilities and bouts of anger, fatally shot Gretchen before taking his own life.
