Gary Lee Tripp Sr., a 69-year-old Vietnam veteran, was found dead in his Jacksonville, Florida home on April 25, 2018. Upon entering the residence, officers found Tripp shot in the back of the head.

Security camera footage from various locations, including Walgreens and Home Depot, showed a woman making purchases with Tripp's card. This led to the arrest of Lisa Deon Williams, who was charged with fraudulent use of a credit card and forgery. However, police have not confirmed whether Williams was involved in Tripp's murder or if they knew each other.
Despite the arrest related to the fraudulent use of Tripp's bank card, the case remains unsolved. Tripp's family, particularly his son, Gary Tripp Jr., has been vocal about seeking justice for his father. They have urged anyone with information about the murder to come forward and assist the police in their investigation.
