Sharembria Lewis, a 27-year-old woman from West Palm Beach, Florida, tragically lost her life on May 25, 2021, in a murder-suicide incident. The West Palm Beach Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence on 36th Court. Upon arrival, officers heard sounds of fighting followed by gunshots. They found Sharembria Lewis deceased from gunshot wounds and Calvin Nance, also 27, suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Nance was transported to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation revealed that Calvin Nance was the perpetrator of the murder-suicide. He had a prior conviction for domestic violence in 2018, although it did not involve Lewis. Despite no previous domestic violence cases between Nance and Lewis being reported to the police, family members indicated there was a history of domestic issues between them. On the day of the incident, five children were present in the home, but fortunately, none were physically harmed. One of the children made the 911 call that brought police to the scene.

This tragic event marked the 27th confirmed homicide in Palm Beach County for the year and the sixth in West Palm Beach. The case highlighted the ongoing issue of domestic violence and its devastating consequences. The West Palm Beach Police Department and local authorities continue to offer support and resources for those affected by domestic violence, emphasizing the importance of seeking help and intervention in such situations.
