Justin Moyer, a 33-year-old male, was tragically shot and killed on June 4, 2018, in West Palm Beach, Florida. The incident occurred around 3:18 a.m. at the intersection of Belvedere Road and Drexel Road, where Moyer and a 20-year-old woman named Crystal Rivera were found dead inside a car. The shooting also left a third victim, Bailey Post, wounded but alive.
The motive behind the killings was initially unclear, but it was later suggested that the incident stemmed from a dispute over money, possibly related to the theft of marijuana.
The investigation led to the arrest of Hipolito Jesus Fraguela, who was charged with first-degree murder for the deaths of Justin Moyer and Crystal Rivera. Fraguela was apprehended by detectives from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Violent Crimes Division and held without bond. During the trial, it was revealed that Moyer had spent the evening at the Spearmint Rhino Gentleman’s Club before the shooting occurred. Witnesses testified that Fraguela had pulled up beside Moyer's car in a white SUV, aimed a gun at him, and fired multiple shots before fleeing the scene.
The legal proceedings culminated in Fraguela's conviction on two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder. He was sentenced to two life terms without the possibility of parole, along with an additional 30 years with a mandatory minimum of 25 years, to be served concurrently. Despite the conviction, Moyer's mother, Valli Moyer, expressed that no amount of justice could bring her son back. She described the ongoing pain and heartache she has endured since the night of the murder, emphasizing that every day feels like June 4, 2018, for her.
