Brunet Toussaint, aged 42, tragically lost his life on December 8, 2022, in Miami, Florida. The incident occurred in the afternoon when Toussaint was at his residence near the 1700 block of Northwest 58th Street. According to the Miami-Dade Police Department, officers responded to a shooting at the location around 2:00 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Toussaint suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper left arm.
He was immediately transported to Jackson Memorial’s Ryder Trauma Center, where he was later pronounced dead. The autopsy revealed that Toussaint had sustained gunshot wounds to both his arm and chest.
The investigation quickly identified Toussaint's roommate, 46-year-old Marc Ivory Evans, as the primary suspect. According to the police report, Evans had arrived home in the afternoon, and an argument ensued between the two men, leading to the fatal shooting. After the incident, Evans fled the scene in an older model White Buick Regal without rendering aid to Toussaint. The police launched a manhunt, and Evans eventually surrendered to the authorities. He was taken into custody and transported to the Miami-Dade Police Department Homicide Bureau.
Evans is facing serious charges, including second-degree murder and possession of a deadly weapon as a convicted felon. He is currently being held without bond. The case has drawn significant attention, and the Miami-Dade Police Department has urged anyone with additional information to come forward.
