Tommy De La Rosa, a 43-year-old detective with the Fullerton Police Department, tragically lost his life on June 21, 1990, during an undercover drug sting operation in Downey, California. De La Rosa, who had been with the department for ten years, was posing as a drug dealer in a reverse sting operation aimed at selling $4 million worth of cocaine to suspected drug dealers.
