Mingzhi Zhu, a 42-year-old Uber driver and father of two, tragically lost his life on April 27, 2021, in a series of random drive-by shootings that terrorized downtown Los Angeles. Zhu was one of the victims in a spree that also claimed the life of 24-year-old Alexis Carbajal. The shootings began around 12:55 a.m. near Figueroa Street and Exposition Boulevard, where the suspect, later identified as Carlos Lopez, fired multiple rounds into another vehicle.
