John Paul Monego, a 33-year-old Alameda County sheriff's deputy, was tragically killed on December 11, 1998, during a robbery at the Outback Steakhouse in Dublin, California. Monego responded to a 911 call about a robbery in progress at the restaurant. Upon arrival, he was ambushed and shot multiple times by one of the three suspects involved in the robbery.
