Byron Albert Maldonado, a 20-year-old Latino, tragically lost his life on October 30, 2009, in East Hollywood, Los Angeles. The incident occurred late at night when officers responded to a call reporting gunshots near Alexandria Avenue and Clinton Street. Upon arrival, they found Maldonado with a gunshot wound to his chest. Despite being rushed to a hospital, he was pronounced dead shortly after.
