Michael Daniel Crain, a 34-year-old police officer from Riverside, California, tragically lost his life on February 7, 2013. Officer Crain was ambushed and fatally shot while he and his partner were stopped at a red light at the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and Arlington Avenue around 1:30 am. The assailant, Christopher Dorner, a former Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officer, opened fire on their patrol car, killing Officer Crain and severely wounding his partner.
