Deputy Kent Alan Hintergardt, aged 33, tragically lost his life on May 9, 1993, in Riverside, California. He was a dedicated officer with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, having transferred from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Office in 1991. On the fateful day, Deputy Hintergardt responded to a domestic disturbance call at an apartment complex. Unbeknownst to him, the situation was far more dangerous than initially perceived.
