The investigation into Ramon's death revealed that the shooting occurred following an argument between Denzil Nutall and two other teenagers. The confrontation escalated, leading to the fatal shooting in an east Bakersfield alley. Nutall was subsequently arrested in Los Angeles and charged in connection with the incident. In court, Nutall was sentenced to six years in prison for voluntary manslaughter, a decision that brought some measure of closure to Ramon's grieving family.
