Tarek Ali, a 25-year-old resident of Bakersfield, California, tragically lost his life on July 19, 2017. Tarek, also known as Derek Ali, was the owner of a family-run liquor store located on Cottonwood Road. On the evening of his death, Bakersfield Police were called to the Payless Liquor Store around 7 p.m. following reports of a shooting.
