George Louis Martinez Jr., a 19-year-old Latino, was tragically shot and killed on October 10, 2015, in Van Nuys, Los Angeles. The incident occurred in the 6000 block of Kester Avenue, in front of Uncle Rehearsal Studios. According to the Los Angeles County coroner's records, Martinez was standing on the sidewalk with a group of people when an unidentified Latino male approached and began shooting. Martinez sustained a gunshot wound to his torso and was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:02 p.m.
