Kourtney Yochum, a 32-year-old transgender woman, was tragically shot and killed on March 23, 2016, in downtown Los Angeles. The incident occurred in the 500 block of South San Pedro Street, an area known for its high population of homeless individuals. According to authorities, Yochum was walking her two dogs when she was approached by her assailant, Daniel Molayem, a 39-year-old man with whom she had been in a long-term relationship.
