Eric Brown, a 21-year-old resident of Richmond, California, tragically lost his life on October 10, 2016. The incident occurred at La Moine Valley View Park on the Richmond-El Sobrante border. Around 10:50 p.m., Richmond Police responded to calls about shots fired at the park. Upon arrival, officers found Eric Brown and a 19-year-old male from Rodeo suffering from gunshot wounds.
Unfortunately, Eric Brown succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the other victim survived with wounds to his lower extremities.
The investigation into Eric Brown's death revealed that the shooting was the result of a narcotics transaction gone awry. Richmond Police swiftly acted on leads and, by October 11, 2016, had arrested three suspects in connection with the murder. The suspects, identified as Richard Taylor, 19, and Anthony Tolliver, 22, both from Richmond, and Karmani Ely, 19, from San Pablo, were charged with murder and robbery.
