Laurice Barrett, a 39-year-old resident of South San Francisco, was tragically killed on December 29, 2016. The incident occurred around 5:15 p.m. in the 200 block of Golden Gate Avenue, near the Civic Center. Barrett was shot along with another man, who survived the attack. Barrett was transported to a hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. The shooting took place near the front entrance of the Service Employees International Union, adding to the shock and concern within the community.
